Our Enrichment Classes
Yoga
Children can shake their sillies out during our yoga class! Self-expression and movement encourages the development of your child’s gross motor skills. Children are motivated to have fun with friends and learn new moves. Ms. Amanda Kwolyk has taught children yoga, creative movement and ballet in New York City for 12 years. She loves igniting a passion for learning about the body by creating a fun, safe environment where students can explore coordination, musicality and mindfulness. Amanda is certified by the ACE for yoga and personal training, the Physical Mind Institute for Pilates, and most recently she completed the Dance Education Laboratory’s Early Childhood Education class. Amanda is excited to explore yoga with the students at BunnyHill LIC!
Music
There are many benefits to early childhood music education. The goal is to inspire and create a love for learning music in our young children. Ms. Marissa is helping our youngest learners to explore rhythm, solfege (do-re-mi) and healthy emotional expression through music and play. She has a bachelor of music in musical theater from Belmont University, “has been singing around NYC since 2008 and teaching ‘Tot’s Sing &
Play’ music class for ages 0-4 in Long Island City every week”
Art
Art is a vital tool in a child’s development as it requires physical dexterity and cultivates an individual point of view. Our arts and crafts classes focus on fostering both: students will develop fine motor skills working with a wide variety of materials and explore self-expression in many different styles as they learn about techniques, movements and artists from all over the world. Whether we explore finger-painting or clay, Jackson Pollock or Annie Leibovitz, Chinese art or African art, pointillism or collage, all of our art classes promote personal expression, critique and appreciation through our enriching hands-on curriculum.
Karate
Karate classes are a fun way for both boys and girls to achieve fitness and focus. It helps teach self-discipline and socialization skills. It is also the respect kids learn, whether from bowing or standing still and waiting for the next command, that can be the most important benefit: It often carries over into school, helping to improve behavior and even grades, according to recent research. We have been working with David Shihan Martial Arts since 2017!
Gifted and Talented Test Prep
This class is designed for children (Pre-K level) who sign up for the Gifted and Talented test which is January of every year. We provide G & T test prep classes in the after school program. Our exclusive class setting trains for confidence, attention, responsiveness and test taking skills that are difficult, if not impossible, to achieve by home training.
Robotics
Every Friday Bunny Hill works with Snapology and offers Robotics classes. Snapology provides interactive robotics and coding programs for children ages 3 and up using LEGO® bricks. Students chosen to attend robotics programs learn pseudo-coding, coding, robotics and engineering principles. Using fun topics and themes, such as animals, games, space and battle machines, we embrace children’s interest and curiosity to guide them through robotics and engineering principles. The programs provide the best mix of fun and education for your child. In fact, most kids have so much fun in our programs, they don’t even realize how much they are learning.
Piano/Violin
Bunny Hill, working with Piano School of NYC, offers private piano lessons to children ages 3 and up. Wide range of music styles is offered by highly professional teachers: from classical to jazz and pop. A wide variety, students learn the basic history of string instruments, proper posture and positioning, as well as instrument maintenance. Basic principals of music history and appreciation are offered for different styles of music.
Dance Movement/Theatre
Mental, social and physical development of the young child is the specialty of our enrichment activities. Our music, movement, and theater programs are age-appropriate. Our classes, working the Kinder Dance, include speech, movement, puppetry, mime, music appreciation, development of the imagination, self-confidence and social development. Each class teaches theatre drills, vocal enhancement, physical-mental-social development and movement skills.
Soccer
Super Soccer Stars has been working with Bunny Hill providing fun, high-energy kids soccer classes. Set in a fun, non-competitive environment, the classes introduce children to the fundamentals of soccer through creative programming and imaginative games. The dynamic coaching staff, consisting of early childhood, education, and soccer specialists, utilize a unique curriculum which is crafted to improve soccer skills, build self-confidence, and develop socialization skills.

Theatre
If your 3 to 5 year-old child loves music and drama, they will adore our musical theater class with AudroRox! It was created specifically for preschool and early grade school students drawing on Audra’s extensive theater background and success teaching Music for Aardvarks. We will activate young imaginations by enacting beloved childhood stories like The Gingerbread Man and The Three Billy Goat’s Gruff through song! The result will be a creative and dynamic class where kids develop their writing and performance abilities, musical aptitude—and most important—cooperation and collaboration skills. The final performance is something parents and friends won’t want to miss!
Sing
Kids need more opportunities to perform. Kids need more music. Kids need to sing. Kids need a chance to build relationships that require them to work, support, and encourage each other. Kids need to learn how to blend their voices and talents to create something beautiful. This is the mission of our singing class with the team Sing LIC!
Our Language Programs
What we teach at Bunny Hill is beyond a language. We are providing our early learners with exposure and building bridges to connect our children to an increasingly global world, and helping them cultivate a lifelong passion and appreciation of the Chinese/Spanish language and culture. Did you know that children can be referred to as “sponges?” That statement could not be more accurate when it comes to a child learning a foreign language. A child’s brain is developmentally ready to accept and learn a foreign language. Fluency comes fairly easy, rapid and without an accent. Learning a foreign language can also provide academic benefits. Bilingual children have been shown to have better critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and greater mental flexibility.
Mandarin
你好! Our vision is to create an intriguing environment where children can discover the joy in learning the Mandarin language and Chinese culture. The most widely spoken language in the world, Mandarin, is also one of the most popular to learn! Children at Bunny Hill Daycare and Preschool learn Mandarin with books, songs, art and a monthly curriculum.
Spanish
Hola! Our Spanish classes provide English speaking children a chance to acquire a second language naturally – with the goal of becoming bilingual by their kindergarten year – and thus enjoy the life-long benefits of early bilingualism. We teach our children Spanish by naming, recognizing, pronouncing, and art projects linking to the weekly themes.
